Put an End to Linguistic Chaos
International production means a variety of project languages. DoLittle takes care of linguistic concordance in CAD projects at Volkswagen.
Today, companies from around the world play a part in vehicle production. As a result, there is a need to create multi-language CAD documents. DoLittle from T-Systems has a clever solution platform for the Volkswagen Group’s development partners: a system to assist engineers with the creation of multi-language CAD construction details based on a company specific text catalog.
The central database currently includes around 85,000 text entries. Translations that do not yet exist can be directly requested in the system. Specialized translators then create translations and transfer these to the database so that new entries are directly available online for all engineers. This way, the system never stops learning. The highlight of this system is the direct linking of engineer and translator. Because after all, a straight trajectory is always the shortest distance between two points.
Directly connecting translators and engineers
The DoLittle module therefore operates independently of a particular CAD system. Specific integration in leading CATIA® and Pro/E platforms offers particular benefits. The current implementation stage supports German-English and English-German translations.
